Teri, the singer-songwriter, has a lifelong connection to folk music and a background in musical theater. Growing up in the 1960s & ’70s, she also had exposure to classic rock, jazz, blues, and the topical music made popular by the many rallies and protests of the era. Forced into early retirement from her catering business of 25 years by the 2020 lockdowns, she was left with lots of time to research (another passion) and write, shifting her creative outlet from food to songs.
Newsicals was created to make the news, in some small way, music to the ears — perhaps easier to take in and digest via melodies and humor.
Seabury is an eclectic musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer, recording artist, music teacher, and storyteller. Being a gig worker, he also found himself unemployed with the lockdowns in effect. Thankfully, his talents enabled us to replace the two fiddlers that backed out, one after the other, on this project. Bring on his one-man-band!
