Dear friends, Joyous greetings!
I’m delighted that we come together for kirtan on Sun. Oct. 27, from 2- 4pm!
I’m grateful that we gather at beautiful Trinidad Heart Center, 426 Trinity St.
With Seabury Gould: vocals, guitar & bamboo flute; & Colby Beers: tabla.
$10- 20 sliding scale.
There will be chai, light refreshments, and “room to move” for those who are inspired to add movement/dance to their singing.
Kirtan is part of Bhakti Yoga, the yoga of Devotion. It’s a heart-opening sacred musical experience. Singing together in this way helps us appreciate Nada Brahma: Sound is God.
Seabury‘s kirtans are easy to follow traditional Hindu chants in classic call & response patterns.
In order to facilitate better & more audible singing, Seabury & Colby respectfully request no masks.
By singing these ancient Sanskrit chants, we join a stream of consciousness & devotion that’s been flowing for centuries.
Seabury is available for private lessons in guitar, piano, & vocal music (including Indian ragas). He studied both North Indian (Hindustani) music & South Indian (Karnatic) music in India & with master teachers such as Ali Akbar Khan & GS Sachdev.
Drummer Colby has been a devoted disciple of tabla master Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri for a decade, has studied percussion since 1997, & is a teacher of tabla & other percussion.
